Why not use duplex? It's just using different ink. If speed is an issue, use draft mode.

The only reason to duplex print, IMO, is to save paper
It is more convenient and better to print web pages
but then you have to figure in the added ink costs if you use OEM cartridges. The BCI-3 black is about twice the capacity of BCI-6 black for about the same cost per cartridge.
It costs more.
