I'm running the HP Officejet 5610 All-in-one on Windows Vista Home Premium. It printed but the scanner and fax featured wouldn't work. These are the instructions I was given and everything worked just fine:
As the HP software is bundled for XP and the prior versions of windowsthe
it is not compatible with Vista for this you have to install HP Full
feature drivers by which you can use the All-in-One as before.

Perform the following steps to uninstall and reinstall the All-in-One
software.
Uninstallation:

As you have upgraded Windows Vista then please run the uninstaller
utility to first remove any preinstalled software before installing

Installation Steps:
The download page will give the option to Save this program to disk or
Run this program from its current location. Select the option Save
program to disk.window
Save this program to disk
1. Create a folder to save the downloaded file.
2. From the download page, click Download Now. A File Download
will appear.downloads
3. Select Save this program to disk. A Save window as will appear.
4. In the Save In: box, select the location to the folder that was
created to save the file in. The file will automatically name itself.
It is best to accept the default name.
NOTE: Many of the full HP all-in-one product software program
are very large and will take some time to download.
Extract and install the downloaded software
1. To extract and install the software, browse to the downloaded file
and double-click the file that was downloaded.
2. Follow the screen prompts to install the HP software.

I have checked the HP Web site to see if drivers are available for
Vista.
The web site states that a basic driver is available with limited
features. It does not say which features.
Does anyone know what features are there. If it only leaves off all
the excess garbage of the XP driver no problems.
But does it allow 2 sided duplex printing, or is there a full list of
paper sizes. This is the sort of info that is needed, but is not
listed
