Hello all,
I got this problem. When trying to print on a CD usinig the tray, it
goes in and comes out after 3 sec. I get a message to try again, I do
but it's still the same. I used to have this problem but after a
couple of tries I somehow managed to print the CD. Now, no matter how
many times I try, it doesn't work. I try many initial positions of the
tray- still no result. Has anybody got the same problem?
I've upgraded my iP4000 with a CD/DVD tray off eBay (the feature was
originally removed for North Americans... are we not people!). Mine
works flawlessly, no rejection. I can only suggest you make sure the
shiny small "metallic" reflectors are clean. The printer needs to read
them cleanly in order to use the tray properly.
Taliesyn, I always thought you were Canadian and IP 4000's in Canada
(Ithe tray I think. At least thats what I think Zak from this group said
Canadadrop by here sometimes, but haven't seen Zakeke (sp) here for quite a
while). I live in Canada and as far as I know, North America is US,
forand Mexico :). Are you in the US?I wonder why they would remove the tray
IP4000.the US market. I have an IP4000 but never used the tray. I like the
Its a good printer.
Hail Mary! (sorry, couldn't resist)
I've never been called *that* Mary before. I'm afraid I can't live up to it
:)
Yes, I'm in Canada! Neither the US nor Canadian iP4000s/iP5000s had the
"cookie sheet" CD/DVD tray "B". Something about Canon preferring to not
pay royalty fees to someone - or so I heard.
What was it that Zazeke used to say about it? I didn't completely understand
it, because I didn't have a desire to do my own labels for CD's. Isn't that
what Zak said the tray was for printing labels for CD's? Didn't he say that
the IP 4000 models in Canada had this tray and he sometimes advised US
people to order it from Canon Canada. Zak is gonna come here and "get" me if
I am telling you wrong information about him -LOL. Doesn't he come to this
group any more?
Some things have changed with current models. The Canadian version of
the iP4300 comes with the tray while US versions don't (I checked
websites).
Your above post is "hazy". You state the iP4000 has the tray (you
think) and then later you say you never use the tray. Which is it?
Do you have the thin plastic "cookie sheet" tray "B" you insert into
the Canon oven - er, printer?
I guess I am a bit "hazy" because I've never used the tray, but I was under
the impression that the tray is already in the Canon IP4000 in Canadian
models and you just need to add an insert? I was under the impression that
US models never had the tray OR the insert. Is that not correct? Maybe you
can straighten me out about this :)
