I'm thinking of selling my Photosmart 2710 unless there is a
way to reset the ink levels upon refilling. I've seen conflicting info
about this, some saying it can't be done period, others that rotating
2 to 4 cartridges will do it.

There is no way to reset the ink levels. The information is in the cartridge, rotating several cartridges will not have any effect.
