aha, so mostly one has more nozzles. What this benefits is the question, however. I mean other than speed

In theory, smaller nozzles will give better definition and gradients. I've never done a side by side comparison using the same photo so I can't say for sure how well that works in practice.

Yes, for example, my iP5000 gives visibly better results in both photos
and graphics over the junior iP4000 model. I should not have bought this
model as a backup and gone with another iP5000.

YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG. SINCE YOU DO NOT USE THE CORRECT INK IN YOUR PRINTER EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS SUBJECT TO INCONSISTENCIES. THE FACT IS THAT THE IP4000 PRODUCES MARGINALLY BETTER PHOTOS THAN THE IP5000 AND FASTER ALSO BUT THE IP5000 DOES PRODUCE BETTER GRAPHICS AND BUSINESS DOCUMENTS THAN THE IP 4000. YOU CRAP AFTERMARKET INK PREVENTS YOU FROM SEEING THIS.

Bullshit reply.

Read 'em and weep. Just took out my HobbiColors ink and inserted CANON
OEM ink, which I always keep on standby for comparisons. I got exactly
the same result as with aftermarket ink. Since you cannot make this
comparison test - you don't have the necessary printers or inks - your
post is 100% garbage, lies, and intentional misinformation. Regardless
of the inks used, OEM or compatible, the iP5000 will always outperform
the lesser iP4000 at high resolutions for both photos and graphics.
