While the word compatible should be taken with a grain of salt since one can attach a multitude of meanings to it there is no aftermarket (compatible in the loosest sense of the word) for the new Canon printers.

And nobody appears to be making claims yet.

There are several sources of ink for the IP4200 and 5200 - -

Thanks. You're right. Anyone with even half a brain knows that ink for the new series printers has long been available.

OH YEAH DA INK HAS BEEN AVAILABLE BEFORE THE PRINTER WAS DESIGNED AND BEFORE CANON FORMULATED THE INK FOR THE NEW PRINTER. HA HA HA HA

Sad that the troll would try to post information that it isn't. Seems anyone with even half
a brain

I CONCEED THAT YOU HAVE HALF A BRAIN

can find the pertinent information using Google. Say, isn't that
what search engines are for? Oh right, but you do need that "half a
brain"

YOU HAVE THAT

which some of us would rather not use lest the truth about ink availability becomes known to all here. Well, now it has. And I will add
that I just checked and several sites have also

stated

LIKE I SAID A STATER CAN STATE ANYTHING. COMPATIBILITY MEANS NOTHING IN THE INK BUSINESS. IT IS LIKE THE DAYS OF THE VERY EARLY PC CLONES. THEY ALL SAID THEY WERE COMPATIBLE BUT THERE WAS ALWAYS SOME SOFTWARE THAT WOULD NOT RUN.

that resetters
and prefilled cartridges (with chips)

will "soon" be coming.

FIRST THE HALF WIT SAID IT HAS BEEN OUT THERE FOR A LONG TIME AND NOW THE HALF BRAIN SAYS IT WILL SOON BE COMING.

HA HA HA HA

I would
only be interested in this line of printers once there are proper
alternatives to the new Canon brand cartridges as I am not interested in
paying $150 Canadian for a new set whose only real change will be pretty
blinking lights

READ THE SPECS. THERE ARE OTHER DIFFERENCES OTHER THAN INK.

. Fading has never been an issue with me as all vital
prints are protected behind glass/plastic or stored in drawers and
shelves (booklets and CDs). Happy alternative printing. Not everyone
here is interested in supporting Billion dollar corporations who
constantly dream up new ways to remove money from our pockets. Thanks,
Des!
