I purchased an OkiData C5150n unit some months ago and am more than pleased
with it. I too was totaly fed up with plugged heads, head cleaning and
nozzle tests, not to mention the tiny ink carts in the newer HP printers.
Not having used up the original toner yet I can not be positive about this ,
but the manual clearly states that the unit will continue to print after the
low toner message untill the cartridge runs out.
There is provision in the setup menu to have it stop or not stop, user
selectable.
This unit is not the cheapest color printer out there but to me it is one of
the best. It has USB and network ports, I am using it on my network but the
USB worked fine also.
