My Stylus 600 (with W9x, NT4, XP), (immediate precursor of the 640?)
gave years of good service, but recently it started to behave like this
too, and would also print a portion of a page but then not advance the
paper while still printing.
Despite new cable etc, it got more and more frequent so finally I had to
bite the bullet and get rid of it. Very sad, but the replacement Epson
Stylus C86 is pretty good for my purposes. Much quieter and quicker too.
