Hi,
But 4os2 needs this dll especially for begin-/endlibpath as stated in the
.inf. When I start 4os2 (the version delivered with eCS2.0rc2) I do not
see a warning about failing to load the dll.
That's probably because the load is not failing. If you look at the code
in os2init.c, you can see it's pretty hard to avoid the warning.
That's what I've to
investigate further.... But explains why beginlibpath did not work here
when I tested it.
True. Of course, this applies to all the features provided by jpos2dll.
My which utility with -las searches for a file in libpath.
As it should. You example implied you were searching for a directory.
Beside that, I think I was right on this point when I said
4os2 did not handle beginlibpath correct which matches the describtion on
4os2.inf when jpoos2dll.dll is not loaded.
This a matter of POV. 4OS2 handles beginlibpath just fine if jpos2dll is
available and loaded.
Tested against the standard
os2 command shell.
That's not a reasonable comparison.
Anyway, this is in the end an error in my 4os2 setup
of course.
:-)
One thing I also learned is - most often asking an expert a dump
question and learn from his answere saves a lot of time. As long as
others are willing to share there knowlege (as I do in other fields) I
think it's fine.
There really is not such thing as a dump question. However, there are
lazy questions.
I think you will find that most OS/2 developers are willing to share their
knowledge as long as they get the sense that the person asking the
question has made a reasonable effort to find the answer out on his/her
own.
Regards,
Steven
