Tried this too, and for SIP the results are a bit better.
Trying to dial, the phone in the other end actually rings, but the app
freezes up the PC 1 sec l8r. Hard reset is necessary :-/

But this app do at least show some potential

I had sound from Java 1.5 too.
I found I had to copy the jsound.dll from the Java 1.4.2 over in order
to get Java to see the capture hardware.
I get connected to the SIP server but I can't seem to actually make a
call. http://67.130.192.152/ this is designed to check your
connection for using VOIP. It uses the Java 1.4.2 plugin. It keeps
saying it cannot make the connection, like the SIP port is blocked.
On the same machine, if I boot to Windows it runs fine.
Not sure if the 2 issues are related but I suspect it may be.

Shut down your firewall, and that test app works from here.
Test app can't be designed as a real SIP connection, as those
will pass FX firewall without any setup.

I haven't setup a firewall on eCS to shutdown. Are you saying that
once you shutdown your eCS firewall it worked ok from there?
