Of course there is an alternative to the OS/2 DOS session: DOSBox http://www.joschs-robotics.de/dosbox/
Just for fun I did not install DOS/Win16 support when Installing eC2.0RC6a recently and use DOSBox instead.
My DOS use is really limited to playing a few old games and DOSBox can play those with sound - unlike OS/2 DOS sessions if using the Uniaud driver.
Just for fun I have also installed Windows3.1 and 3.11 into DOSBox sessions and they seem to work reasonably well.
I'm curious .. I downloaded a copy of this and it does open using a virtual
drive letter z:\ operation. That apparently has 640K of basic 'memory' for
this virtual DOS application.
Is there any way to get it to give me more than 640K like in a DOS-VDM OS/2
operation with either CGA or MONO memory for video?
Also, is it possible to set it up so that the complete operation for all of the
'normal' hard disk partitions are available to it that might be there in a
'normal' DOS-VDM? Such as C:\ D:\ E:\ F:\ G:\ H:\ here? That plus set up the
complete complex path configuration and so on which is in the 'standard'
AUTOEXEC.BAT that I use here?
It looks to me like this tool is restricted to only one drive and 'path' for.
as intended, primarily game playing.
Thanks!
