an easier way, but this worked for me. I now have a CD with all of the
floppies burned to it. How I'll ever get the data back on disk
in the PACKING.LST format, I haven't a clue, but I'll cross that bridge
when
I come to it.
This all started because I wanted a backup in case the floppies went bad
at
some point. Come to find out my #2 disk of the IBM WORKS
"Bonus Pack" disks is bad right out of the box, and it won't let me
install
IBM WORKS. Too bad, I would have like to have used it.
You wouldn't have a copy would you? :-)
Thanks,
Snyde
I have a CD of blue box Warp v3 around somewhere. I could dig it up and
send you disk #2 from the bonus pack if you'd like.
As for the packing.lst stuff, that is why I suggested using savedskf which
basically makes an image of the floppies.
I understand, but to copy the floppy to another floppy defeats the purpose
of what I was trying to do. I've already got 1 bad floppy in the bunch, when
I try to install IBM Works it errors out on disk 2 and won't go any farther.
I want to put the floppies' data on CD somehow so it,(hopefully), won't
deteriorate. I just don't trust floppies.
Can you use savedskf to create images of the floppies on a hard drive and
then burn them to CD using NERO or some other program? That would be great!!
The CD comes with both the floppies expanded into sub directories and the
individual floppies images.
I only wish I had a CD of Warp 3, I only have the floppy version.
Dave
I'd appreciate that if you will send that disk to me, I don't think IBM is
gonna send a replacement at this stage of the game. :-)
Thanks,
Snyde
