I want to try to use LPD/LPR printing with the H-P JetDrive print server<Windows directions skipped>
and OS/2. I have instructions for doing this with WinXP. They are
tantalizingly close to being translatable to OS/2 terms, but I don't
know enough to do the translation to the OS/2 - TCP/IP implementation
that I see in the TCP/IP configuration notebook. Could someone more
knowledgable look at these WinXP instructions and help with this? Here
they are:
Here is how I access my Brother HL-5050 which is attached to a Zonet
ZPS2102 print server on my LAN:
start "LPT1" /n /min lprmon -b -p HL-5050 -s 192.168.80.215 lpt1 start
"LPT2" /n /min lprmon -b -p HL-5050 -s 192.168.80.215 lpt2
As noted above the IP address of my ZPS2102 is 192.168.80.215 as I
assigned it in my router based upon its MAC address. I set the name of
the queue as HL-5050 in the ZPS2102's management menu accessed via its
HTTP interface. So the ZPS2102 gets its IP address via DHCP from my
router which always gives it the above address.
The LPRMON program redirects output addressed to the LPT1 and LPT2 ports
to the ZPS2102 queue. I use LPT1 and LPT2 in my printer object and
currently use LPT1 for PCL and LPT2 for PS print streams.
I hope this helps you get your printer working.
