Open the settings of Open Office program (not the folder! the program)
Click on Assign (I've not installed english eCS)
Click on the left hand side all the Open Office document types it
should open by clicking on that type of document. It will move into
the right hand side.

To remove one you would click the type in the right hand side listbox
and move it out into the right hand side.

Close the notebook or switch to another tab.

Optionally you may fill in on the lower left hand side textbox an
extension like *.swf and click on the button on its right.
