Eventually, I'd like to install OS/2 Warp Server on this computer. Its
a Pentium 90 but is low on RAM right now. It has 48MB Ram, eventually
(for a couple hundred smackers) I'll upgrade it to 256MB.

I don't think it could handle OS/2 Warp Server now. Would it make
sense to install 4.5.1 now and later replace it with Warp Server? I
understand that Warp Server is not an upgrade from Warp 4.0 - its
working part is Warp version 3.0.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you only want to use it as a file and print server (eg. don't run anything other locally), you'll be fine with 48MB. We used to have model 95 servers with 32MB RAM, running Warp Server 4 Advanced, serving up to 1000 clients.

Jeroen: you're saying I could go straight to Warp Server. But aren't the operational features inferior to Warp 4? (I know, install whichever damned one I want to).

I'm reading up on Warp 4 - I have the redbook. The book says you can
install part of Warp Server using Warp 4. Does this make any sense?

I'll be installing Warp 4 in another 9595, a 0MF (50DX, 64MB), so these
installations will keep me busy.

Well, it all depends what you want to do with it. If you want to use it as a file and print server, then Warp4 has no advantages over Warp3.
If, however, you want to use it as a workstation, then you might rather choose Warp4 and leave Warp Server off.
