It is reproducable. I have created a test case and sent
it to Doodle. I'm currently not in the mood to debug it
myself.

Just FYI, it will happen when certain programs are started
up in the background by while the screen is in "DPMS Suspend"
or "DPMS Off" state. "DPMS Standby" appears not to cause the
trouble.
