It does in a way... When PCs used cassettes for primary storage, they
had to have a method for saving data and retrieving it. I have always
thought I could transfer data from one PC to another by crossing the
input and output of two cassette cables and loading on one while saving
on another.
This may be a good starting place for the OP.
