And I should add that whatever the motivation is, it is the only part
of computer science that can be understandable (almost?) entirely by
one individual! (Although I am far away from that almost point...)
When I was a kid (teenager), I always enjoyed the DOS environment
because I could well keep it in my head.
Actually, I like Unix for the same reason, and I think many would
disagree with that. But in Unix, keeping it in your head just means
something totally different. I would like to check out the Z-80
homebrew project, but when I touch hardware, the magic smoke comes out.
