The Z80 is not a clone of the 8080, it is a whole different CPU, much more advanced.
The 8085 is used in the Zenith Data Systems Z-100 and in S-100 systems using the CompuPro (Godbout) 8085/8088 dual CPU card, also I believe in the TRS 80 model 100 "notebook", and in many of the later IMSAI machines using their "MPU-B" card (this includes the "VDP" series of machines). And I am very sure it is used in many other places.
Your summary left out the 8008, a very important machine. It was the first microprocessor powerful enough to run a high level language (e.g. Basic), and formed the "first wave" of the PC revolution as the processor in the 1974 "Mark-8" computer.
You also completely omit every CPU from the 8085 to the Celeron, a gap of (by your own timeline) 22 years.
The Celeron is just a Pentium {2, 3, 4 .... whatever} with less cache and a less efficient cache access subsystem. It's the same actual processor core as a full Pentium, however (although at any given time, it may only be offered with "one generation slower" front-side bus speeds).

Without this breakthrough most of us wouldn't be writing here on a PC.

CPU of Altair 8800, the first personal computer, and the processor for which CP/M was developed. If I'm wrong, correct me. As far as I know, Z80 is a "clone."

Can anybody give a list of computers using this processor? It seems to me rare, I know many with 8080 and even more with Z80.

I wonder, is the 478 pin Celeron much different from this early released chip? I'm interested because I bought one for my P4 motherboard.
