Alpine 2.00 Kerberos error

Hi:
I am using Alpine on my university's Unix server (no local client: the
mail remains on the server). I have been getting a strange series of
error messages when I open folders,
[>Error in negotiating Kerberos continuation<]
[>Unknown Kerberos failure: The routine must be called again to
complete its function<]
[>Kerberos mechanism status: No error<]
[>{*****.***.***/novalidate-cert}INBOX.sent-mail : Invalid tag<]
and I am then prompted for email/password (the "*" in the last line
are my uni mail server which I am omitting).
Note that this does not happen every time I open a folder, but rather
once every three or four times. And sometimes the last message is
omitted and I do not have to re-enter my password.
I have checked my .pinerc and it looks fine. This is also not a
timeout issue. The IT guys do not know what the problem is either.
Does any one have a suggestion or something I should check?
Koleman
