Migrating from Mozilla Mail to PC-Pine

As per the subject I'm migrating my own mail client from Mozilla Mail to
PC-Pine at work (which I will call Pine for brevity).

I access two inboxes. One is an IMAP shared mailbox with subfolders for
the people who share it. Mail stays in this mailbox online and is not
downloaded locally.

The other is a POP3 mailbox. Any mail in the POP3 mailbox is downloaded
and presented as a local inbox. I have created a large number of
folders alongside this inbox to store some of the mail from the inbox
when I have finished with it. They are all currently stored in my
Mozilla 'salt' directory as a series of extensionless files in mbox
format, and an accompanying set of .msf files (mailbox summary file)
which Mozilla uses for indexing.

The .msf files can be thrown away as they are specific to Mozilla. My
inbox file is currently called Inbox and that is where I want new mail
to go to, and what I want to use as my Pine INBOX.

In Pine I envisage that I will have my POP3 mail being maildropped into
the mbox file called Inbox, and that will be my main inbox. I will have
another inbox defined for my IMAP mailbox, and these will both be
present in Incoming-Folders, which I will turn on. I will also have a
local folder collection for my other mbox files.

I have a number of questions about this.

o When Pine opens an mbox file, all the mail is flagged as unread. Is
there an easy way to recurse through a collection of mbox files and mark
every message within as read?

o I can define a maildrop that moves mail from my POP3 inbox to my local
inbox. However the instructions on the Pine site advise against calling
the local inbox "inbox" because Pine will get confused and think this
means your local inbox - which I do mean, so I am also confused. I want
mail to end up in my existing local mbox file called Inbox - how do I
achieve this?

o In Mozilla I do a lot of dragging of mail from the inbox to the other
folders. It's fairly easy although time consuming as I have to wait for
the folders to scroll up or down (there are around 260 of them so far).
In Pine I can save a file straight to the correct folder but in order to
browse it I have to do ^T then go back a level then over to my
collection, then back down a level and then locate the mail folder (ie
mbox file). Is there a more straightforward way of saving mail to
folders without having to do the up, over and down action? I can see
that becoming annoying after a few hundred repeats.

o When I reply to mail in the IMAP mailbox (ie inbox and subfolders) I
need to use one identity, and when I reply to mail from the local
mailbox (ie inbox and folders in the local folder collection) I need to
use another. Can a role distinguish between one inbox and a load of
folders in a collection on the one hand, and an IMAP mailbox on the
other?

o I also need the sent mail to go to the respective Sent folder (local
as opposed to IMAP depending on which hat I've got on), which again is
easy with the Fcc role rule. But how do I ensure that postponed mail
goes into the respective Drafts folder?

Are there any other gotchas in migrating to Pine with a load of mbox
files? Is there perhaps another format which is better suited to local
use and, if so, how does Pine 'know' which format to use?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.
