Why would the owners of Eudora let it go open source? Eudora is a viable product for Windows, and presumably they have more sales for that version than for the Mac version. If they let the Mac version go open source, what's to stop someone from porting it to Windows?



Erm, I should've searched for Eudora first. Ignore above comment -- it's way off base. I had an "intellectual interruption," according to those of my friends who have similar age-related glitches in thinking.

Note excerpt below. It looks like Penelope _is_ the open source version of Eudora for Mac.
