Acrobat 6 will only enable 85 lpi 600 x 600 dpi from the SaveAs PostScript
option with the 1200 dpi printer selected and "Allow PostScript file to
override PDF settings" checked in the advanced settings.
However, the PDF conversion and exported PS will print at 106 lpi if 1200
dpi is chosen from the printer menu but the individual boxes remain
identical.
OK, this is the 'default' screen, it allows you to set a screen to be
used if the file doesn't include ont. However, if you go a bit further:
1) Select File->Save As
2) in the 'Save As Settings dialog select the 'PostScript Options' in
the left hand list box
3) Check the 'Emit Halftones' check box
Then the saved PostScript file maintains all your halftone settings.
Please note, this was with Acrobat 8 on Windows, other versions of
Acrobat or platforms may have different words or methods of getting to
these options (isn't consistency wonderful ?)
