So much for viewing it in Corel Draw. Time to see if Acrobat Reader can
make sense of it, given that Corel is claiming it's a close relative of
PDF files and despite the fact that installing Adobe's large chunk of
crap didn't associate eps files with it (or anything else).
So much for Acrobat, too. Only supports actual pdf files. Only pdf and
"all files" in open filters, but I tried the file anyway, and it said
it's not in a supported format.
Someone tell me how to make Ghostview do its goddam job or how to make
Corel Draw ungrey the "import" file menu option. (Selecting PDF from
the file type choices makes the eps file disappear, so it doesn't seem
I can open it from the file open dialog as a pdf...)
And while Corel Draw is on everyone's minds, does anyone know how to
stop it nagging for registration every so often? It does so not only on
install, but occasionally when a Corel app is started -- any Corel app
-- and doesn't seem to provide a "don't bug me again!" option, only
options to "remind you later", up to 15 days later, or register now.
Where's the "I never intend to register -- I paid in good faith and you
cannot now turn around and *demand* that I satisfy your marketing
department's insatiable appetite for more addresses to mercilessly spam
on top of that!" option? It does seem to me that it's my right to
privacy and to not tell their marketing dept. anything if I don't want
to. Yet I don't see how to avail myself of that right without being
nagged every couple of weeks!
