Ghostscript equivelent to BASIC INPUT Statement

I am writing a program to run with GSview in a Windows XP environment.
The output will be viewed on the monitor. The program would be greatly
improved if it could query the user for new data and then display the
results interactively.

It is impractical to know the next situation to be analyzed before
seeing the results of the last program iteration.

I'm looking for the equivelent to the BASIC Statement:

INPUT "Enter Front Seat Passenger's Weight",P1

I've seen a couple of answers to a similar question several years ago,
but could not get either to function.
