In news:73bhcbFu7an0U1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, I typed:
...a given transaction in the form of a fairly large table. The table
is too large to print, so I would like to be able to have an easy
method to email the HTML-coded table to the employee.
You are better off going server side and converting to a PDF,
frankly.
After careful consideration, I'm inclined to agree with you. Even
sending the HTML would not allow the recipient to print the large
tables, yet a PDF attached to the mail would allow the printing to
proceed as needed.
I've converted the HTML to a PDF using HTMLDoc as a command line program
vefore using it as a cgi, but unfortunately it also truncates the table
width. Extensive research on their news.easysw.com forum shows many others
over the years with the same problem, yet no solution apparently exists for
"hardcopy" printing of wide html tables.
PDF doesn't seem to deal with the issue.
