dynamic navigation image

Hi- I'm trying to build a dynamic navigation map, like google
maps,except the map will be a graphical representation of some data.
When the user drags the map to the left, the script should generate a
new part on the right, and vice versa. I'd also like the ability to
zoom by scroll wheel. Can anyone point me to some sample code to get
me started?
