JavaScript Expert Needed (Chicago, SF Bay)



Meetroduction (Meetro) is looking for a full-time JavaScript expert.

Chicago-based startup seeks an experienced, dedicated and energetic JavaScript programmer to develop components of a robust, browser-hosted social networking application. You must have very strong AJAX-Object Oriented JavaScript skills, intimate knowledge of the DOM and experience developing XML driven applications using JavaScript. This position requires excellent HTML, DHTML and CSS skills but this is not specifically an HTML coding or design position. You should have 3 to 5 years of web development experience creating dynamic content.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative technical solutions for both dynamic chat software and social networks. You will work with designers, the project manager and other software engineers to implement a user facing portion of this application using JavaScript, DHTML and an XML interface to back end systems. This will be a challenging and interesting project which will result in your work being visible to a large audience on some of the newest media platforms and devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate with development team to create a high-visibility media-enabled DHTML/JavaScript Application
- Work with Design Team to develop web and television interfaces, XML data input handling applications, applications to implement business rules and other web application functions.
- Work with QA to create test plans, test data sets and automated testing to ensure all components of the system meet specifications.
- Provide technical support and respond to error reports, problems or questions.


DESIRED SKILLS

- Excellent understanding (3+ Years) of Web technologies, including OO-JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, and XML
- Background (2+ years) in ActionScript is a BIG PLUS.
- Experience in developing full life cycle web/database applications.
- Additional skills in XML-related technologies (XHTML, SVG, XSLT, XSL-FO, VBScript, Active X, VB.Net, C# C++) a plus.
- Flexibility, creativity and a team-oriented outlook.


COMPENSATION

$50,000/yr. plus benefits.

REMOTE WORK

Remote work is acceptable if applicant has excellent references. Otherwise, applicant should reside in (or be willing to relocate to) either Chicago or the San Francisco Bay area.
