You're viewing the hex color as just a prefix. But in ColorForth, color
is more about switching to a different interpreter for the word. In
that sense, Charles Moore would likely agree with Bezemer's position.

Well, maybe, but Chuck had decided to build a decimal number interpreter
prefix and a hex number interpreter prefix opposed to a current base number
interpreter prefix, which means that he thinks the base should be connected
to the number token.

Of course, people should focus best on what is best for them, their
problems, and their coding style than justify choices based on any
individual.

And "Chuck might hate it" is always a bad argument, given that it's pure
speculation. I don't know if Chuck loves or hates it, or simply ignores it,
but so do most other people. If you want to follow Chuck, implement another
ColorForth.
