John Doty is obviously not an idiot and he's also been in contact with
Forth for a long while it seems to me. Moreover, why not simply

on what others think. The best that can happen is that, after careful

You assume to much, giving my words greater weight than they were intended to carry. John is thoughtful, intelligent, and productive. He is one of several here who I would look to for help if I needed it. Nevertheless, if he believes that any language that is substantially the same today as it was a decade ago is not Forth, then he and I waste our effort discussing what is and is not Forth. I have no desire to convince him of my point of view. I engaged him in discussion the better to understand his. If his view comes down to the notion that Forth must keep moving like a shark in order to remain Forth, I've learned all I want of it. I think John understands my respect for him. I don't engage Werty.
