It looks like this might be the same company, you might want to call
or email them:http://www.valparint.com/
Sales Office: 800-633-3321
E-mail: s...@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I contacted Valpar International and they are indeed the company that
produced this version of Forth.
They are no longer able to produce the software and the former owners
of the company are no longer there.
So, I'll continue to search ...
Dammity. Well, there's one more thing I can think of: post a request
for the software on a site like rentacoder.com. Who knows, you might
get it for a few bucks. I don't know about the legality of it, but if
the company that produced it can't sell it to you I don't see much
wrong with it.
I tried an archie search for it yesterday evening just for the hell of
it, but couldn't find an archie server still operating. What's this
world coming to?
In speaking to Valpar Support, they seemed to recollect that the
former owners of the company had agreed to let someone redistribute
the software 10-15 years ago. Nobody knows if this really happened,
but Valpar at that point had no interest in going forward commercially
with the ValForth software. 8bit computers were long expired dead
meat by that time and prospects for any future sales of the product
would have been almost nil.
I've emailed one of the original programmers for any information they
may have.
Your comment, 'couldn't find an archie server still operating', is why
all of us retro nerds are trying to find all the old stuff and make it
available for future returnees to the old days.
