Security updates killing Clipper app

A client just reported to me that he has some sites running automatic updates, and after two
particular patches were installed last night our Clipper (5.2e, linked with Blinker 6.something)
application locks up. He uninstalled the two updates and now the program works again.
I read over the description of the updates, and I don't even understand the titles much less what
has changed or how they could harm an old DOS application. Has anyone else encountered this?
The two patches in question are KB941644, which "resolves two vulnerabilities in TCP/IP
processing", and KB943485, which fixes a vulnerability in Microsoft WIndows Local Security
Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS). I have no idea what that is, but it sounds scary and not in
the least bit connected to DOS.
{sigh} my boss told me to start contacting friends in other departments, because he doesn't
think my unparalleled genius at writing and supporting Clipper apps will be needed much longer.
I guess I should look into this newfangled "Visual BASIC" that's all the rage nowadays, maybe
upgrade to one of those fast new Pentium computers...
