Hi,
we have several "mission critical" applications running on ADS.
It´s fast and very, very reliable.
Porting your 5.3 app is easy, may be just a setrdddefault() and some changes
in your link scripts.
Pls. note
Installing an ads system on "novellserver / win98 / IPX" is very easy, it´s
harder on win2k/xp servers with TCP/IP and XP-Workstations. With TCP/IP a
"connector app" for clipper must be started on any workstation. TCP/IP is
slower then pure ipx.
The dos / win testing applications and some tools for setting registry
entrys (all included) will help you.
As far as I know, clipper apps will NOT work with the "Ads local server", so
you will need a REAL server (XP/2K server, novell)which we STRONGLY
recommend.
If you work parallel with cdx version/ads version of your app on same dbf´s
you may have to rebuild index files sometimes with ads version.
Why not try a 1000 user 90 days trial for the system (Novell/XP) you use ?
HTH
