Hi Ivar
A few days ago I asked my server to down grade the internet
connection (I don't need 8Mbsps) now you appear in the NG
on my screen Yea. But! is it Coincidance?
I'm not sure, Ivar. I think it might be something to do with the fact
that a couple of weeks ago my own ISP (Wanadoo) decided to ditch their
news server altogether (rather nasty of them!). I did intend to switch
to another ISP, but the wireless broadband I'm currently using uses one
of Wanadoo's "comes free with the ISP contract" wireless routers (which
is a "Wanadoo only" thing) and so I would have to invest in my own
wireless harware, which I can't be bothered to do at the moment.
Wanadoo are definitely destined for the rubbish bin as soon as I decide
to buy my own hardware though (which I will definitely do at some time
in the future). So, for the last week or two I've been using Google
Groups to read and post messages from / to clbvm, which is probably why
my messages are now showing up at your end when they were'nt before.
I'm wondering if your own ISP (or your own machine's security stuff)
has for some reason decided to treat stuff from Wanadoo as "not
kosher", which would probably explain why you can't see my (previously
Wanadoo) newsgroup postings and also why you can't seem to recveive my
emails (at least those from my standard Outlook Express account which
goes through Wanadoo)?
I'll send you two email messages as soon as I have posted this reply.
I'll send one from my Outlook Express account via my Wanadoo mail
server and another from my Yahoo email address via Yahoo webmail. Tell
me which (if any) you get.
By the way, I also post lots of messages on the
microsoft.public.vb.general.discussion group. Do you see those okay (if
you use that group)? They also go from my Outlook Express account, but
instead of using the Wanadoo news server they use the Microsoft public
server.
(Another reply about the colours follows).
Mike
