Send Info to Forms on Web pages ???

I am looking for information on how, with VB6, to post information to forms
on web pages.

I know how to use the Internet Transfer control to, in effect, send a web
page the same info that I might post in the 'address bar'

But for a current project I need to deal with the case of (for example)
going to a webpage and having it come back with a form asking for a
username/password.

How do I enter data into something like that?

This may have to do more with java or something, but I thought I would start
here for any guidance available.
