Allow me to add a few more points..
As for programming, it took me years to learn VB and
I have a nice & expensive library of books on the
topic and all that VB code I've developed over 10 years
or more. The most important thing is to be able to build
on that code and not have to keep reinventing the same
routines.
If MS ever abandons VBA I'm dead, because there's no way
I have the time to fix all the code I've generated and
use constantly. It sure makes me nervous to even think
about it. I do everything in Excel & WORD VBA and only a
handful of apps in VB6.
Bottom line, I want to know that I'm coding in a language
that will be supported for my lifetime. If any changes
must be made, I need at least a 5 year window to bring
old code up to new standards.
