Try "xynt service" its free and works well for me running a VB6 app as
a service in windows 2000.
It even lets you run multiple programs in sequencial order such that
if, for example you had 3 applications and app2 exited, it would close
down app3 then restart app 2 then wait a preset time and restart app3.
The only problem I have with it is that it can only check the apps are
running down to every minute - which is normally fine.
