I think Microsoft believes it can extract the most money from people by dropping
support for VB6 and virtually compelling everyone to upgrade to the .NET version
in order to ensure support. I guess that is why...

I would suppose this is because Microsoft Corporation, Bill Gates, Steve Balmer,
et. al. wish to extract maximum profits for minimum effort: .NET is the best
they could come up with in that regard. The search for more money?
