Hi yitzak.
Thank you. You gave me the light. I SOLVED the problem.
On XP I had ADO 2.8. On the destination installed ADO was 2.7. As you
say it seems that the standard installer does not do an upgrade like
this. I then searchd in the microsoft.com site and I got the runtime of
2.80 and also 2.81 (a few bugfixes). The docs on microsoft say that ADO
upgrades are to be thought as "operating system upgrades, and not only
as simple dll add-ons". Therefore there is a specific installed for ADO
(in fact, generically, a installer of MDAC).
1) Before install, I tried again my proggys. They still failed (as
obvious).
2) I tried to install directly 2.81 but it did complain. I then
installed 2.80 and, inmediately after, 2.81. All was fine.
3) I then run my exes again (without copying them again, I executed the
very same that failed 3 minutes ago) and they happened to run
perfectly.
THANKS VERY MUCH.
If you were a girl I'd kiss you!
See you!
Xavi.
