Heron barcode scanner (datalogic)

Hello,

the heron barcode scanner is useable at windows and mac os x. Under
windows I can select the mode: like a keyboard or as serial device. If I
use it in serial mode, I must install a driver "usbcom", it creates a
virtual com port.

If I want use the scanner with mac os x I can only use it in keyboard
mode, there is no driver for creating virtual serial port.

But the serial mode ist much more professional than the keyboard mode: I
can send configuration codes and switch on/off the scanner between using
....

Is there a way, for using the scanner in serial mode in RB?
