Straight From the Traitor's Mouth - Aaron Ballman

"Oh cry, my ego was hurt.

Eh, I had a whole big, long rant typed up which I was going to mark as
private (due to strong language and stronger opinions). But after blowing
off all my steam, I think a summary will suffice.

I am the UI evangelist at REAL Software for all platforms, not just
Windows. While my personal preference is to avoid the Mac, I?m still a
professional programmer. My goal is for the user experience to match the
user?s expectations on whatever platform they are running on. That means
meeting the UI guidelines for that platform. It?s a monumental task since
the UI needs to span across three different platforms with some vastly
different guidelines. However, I think I?ve done a pretty good job of
juggling the various platform needs. Is the task complete? Certainly not ?
there?s room for improvements on all platforms, and there?s always new UI
being introduced (and guidelines change).

Claiming that I need to buy a Mac (I have two already, and that?s more
than enough) or that we need to hire someone with a better understanding
of Apple?s HIG is offensive to me. I spend more time than any other
designer on ensuring the IDE?s user interface is correct (or at least
acceptable) for all platforms. I?m also damn proud of the job I?ve done.
I?ve had more training in UI design than most, and probably know more
about the interface guidelines for each platform than you?d suspect.

If you have interface issues for any platform, I urge you to report them
(include screen shots if you can). If you have suggestions on how to
improve the user experience, please feel free to discuss them. But when
you find bugs, or when you think you can design something better, please
don?t be rude about it. Remember, there are people on the receiving end of
your comments who take pride in their work. "

Notice:

"While my personal preference is to avoid the Mac,"

No *** Aaron! Us Mac users already knew that from your other posts in
which you mocked Mac users with your new RB Windows buddies.

Depsite claiming to own 2 Macs you still have no fucking idea of how Macs
work - or you simply just don;t give a *** about them due to your lack of
morals.

No, instead your only concern is make Realbasic the best product for
Windows as you can. This anti-Mac attitude fully exaplins why the
Macintosh interface was removed from the product; why many other features
were removed from the product with the introduction of RB2005; and why
Real Software continues to resolve these issues after all this time. But
then what would I expect - you still haven't fixed the Help Tag bug in Rb
and its been 10 years and all we get is some lame excuse form that you've
looked at X times and can't figure it out. Perhaps you don't get it - RB
users are your boss - you work for them. Do you think most people's bosses
would let them continually make excuses - no, they have their asses fired.

You suggest reporting issues to Real Software so that they can be fixed.
That's funny, none of IDE features you removed from RB with RB2005 have
been replaced yet. You claim things will be fixed, but the reality is you
and Real Software have no intention of doing anything for Mac users except
conttinually to remove Mac features and to make the product more suitable
for Window users.

Now when I brought up these issues I was told I told to basically "***
off" by RS; yep, the usual con they try to run stating that you are the
only one whoes brung it up and that you should like the new interface
because it was inspired by Safari because it has tabs. Yeah right - and
the fact that it looks and acts very much like VisualBasic now has nothing
to do with that. You and your comapny are total and utter liars. You betray
one set of customers to sell more to another set.

And this reply is being posted here because Aaron Ballman and Real
Software only allow official RS proganda on their sites.
