The only problem is it is limited to Linux ( Windows works without the
GUI AFAIK )
APLX offers a good value commercial APL for WIndows at a price of ca.
500 GBP.
Runtimes are free !
NOTE: I have already looked at Dyalog APL and I am looking for
alternatives.
What didn't you like here ? ( .... just curious )
Thanks for the response.
I want to try and build a tool which will be able to process large
excel type files and perform some array based operations. But I need
it to be open source and want to it be free for academic and
commercial purposes preferably. Ideally, it should have support for in
memory column based databases like Kdb has and good GUI capabilities
to work on Windows and have smooth integration with other Microsoft
products like MS Word etc.
Any options of doing this with J?
Maybe use something like C# for front end with some open source in
memory column based database which then interacts with a J executable?
Or use sqlite with J?
Any other options that could help with these set of requirements?
.
