On the same idea:

Why not <list> instead of <ul>. And <list type="ordered"> instead of
<ol>. Other things I wish they had done:

<row>, not <tr>
<cell>, not <td>
<quote>, not <blockquote>, with the idea that user-agents would
automagically indent the quote if it was longer than 4 lines or so

I also rather dislike <head> since it seems to occasionally get confused
with http headers. Perhaps <meta> would have been better? Eh--maybe not
on this one.
