running CGI from a subdomain

is there any trick to this? should the cgi-bin directory be created in
the subdomain?
for instance, if I want to run a script for www.subdomain.domain.com,
should I put the script in:
public_html/cgi-bin
or
public_html/subdomain/cgi-bin
By the way, I've tried both anyway with bnbform.cgi and it didn't work.
I get this message:
