Implicit surface from particles

Hi,

I'm trying to build an implicit surface from particles in a 3d package
but I have a bit of trouble with a scale problem...
The problem is my particles are pretty small (so using the marching
cubes
for example, I'd need a small cube size) but my particles are quite
spread
out in space ... so a HUGE size for the grid ...
and I can't split my particles into groups or such as they are all
emitted
from the same spot ...

Anyone has an idea how to generate this kind of implicit surface ?

Thanks a lot !
Francois
