Re: VideoPost from v4 to v8

you could try using rendering\effects

hello one and all,

i went from MAX v4 to v8 in the hope that i can output a very high
resolution bitmap from my scene because v4 did it with much difficulty.
basically, v4 made you render subregions and then you can stitch the
regions together in a 3rd party raster program. not well done.

so i upgraded to v8 because the manual said you can do these ultra-high
resolution renderings. so i open my scene in v8 and render it and it is
fine. first low, like 400x600, and then high, like 7200x10800, and it
rendered fine once i turned on the "Bitmap Pager".

so then i tried it under Video Post because i had a bunch of light,
lens, and star effects that really bring the scene to life. but Video
Post can not handle the large very high resolutions like 7200x10800.
even under v8 and it gives the same error under v4, something to the
effect of "Can not create Bitmap".

am i missing something in v8? is there a new method of doing
VideoPost-like lens and star effects in v8 and is equivalent but updated
from v4? am i using Video Post correctly in v8? please help because i
would love to print this high res to poster and frame the thing. it is
really nice.

also, i noticed in v8, when i choose a Render Preset like
"3dsmax.scanline.no.advanced.lighting.high" the VideoPost elements
disappear.

thank you in advance and have a great day.
