How to move lines of TIFF image (prefer. by command line)?

Hello everybody,
It's the first time i post here and hope I choose the right place. I
have a specific need and want to automate it. I think that via command
line, under linux, it would be bettere achieved, but if you know how
can I do this with CorelPhotoPaint or other software, it's ok for me.

BACKGROUND (you can skip this)
I'm scanning microarrays with a Perkin Elmer scanner (5micrometers
resolution).
The output is a grayscale TIFF, 1290x3800. Each other line is shifed
left of 1 pixel. This is not a big issue but I'd like to fix it to
better automate later analysis.

SCOPE
I have grayscale TIFF. Each other line (let's say every odd line) is
shifted left compared to even lines. If you want to see what I mean

I'd like to have a script or batch procedure to retouch those files
and have them well aligned.

As I have no idea what to start with I ask you some advices. It would
be nice to have some commandline tool that easily allows such
manipulations. ImageMagik could be right, but could you please tell me
some hints on whicìh command and how to?
