If you're looking for a perfect image (and from your comment
about aperture grill wires, you probably are), you'll likely be
disappointed with either of those CRTs. The best shadow
mask monitor was made by Eizo (the F980), but unfortunately
they've discontinued it along with all their other CRT models.
Still, if you can find an F980 with not much use on it, that's
the way to go.
Before writing off aperture grill monitors entirely you should
take a look at Mitsubishi's 2070. It has a brighter screen and
better color gamut than either the Viewsonic or Samsung.
