I have been using an LCD for about a month and so far I haven't had a
problem.
I use a dual setup with one 19" CRT at 85 Hz and a 19" LCD using a true
digital connection. If you have the room, keep the old CRT and add the LCD
onto your video card if it has a connector. My old FX 5600 has a VGA for the
CRT and a DVI for the LCD (The LCD runs much better using the 24 pin DVI-D
cable than using a standard VGA connection ... I tried both just to find
out).
My LCD in an inexpensive (so to speak) 19" Gateway. I wasn't planning on
using it at home and I should have gone with better quality but that's what
I got at the time.
