The -other- way to do it, not that it would work any better with just two
systems, would be to connect both systems via one ethernet port to an
ethernet switch. I'm not familiar with COX and what router they supply, but
I'm guessing it doesn't have additional ports in the way of a built-in
switch like most routers do these days? If you start adding more systems or
devices, especially those with only 1 ethernet port on them, you'll have to
pick up a switch module to plug everything into. No big deal, they'e as
Plug-n-Play as you can get. I saw a D-Link 5port 10/100 switch at Best Buy
the other day for $29.99 w/$10 mail rebate. And yeah, you probably don't
want to connect your broadband service via USB. Although, I'm not sure it
would really suffer from it, USB 1.1 is still several times faster than any
cable connection you're going to come across.
